Getting started
How do I create an account?
Click Sign in in the top navigation and continue with your Google account. There is no separate password to manage. Your account is created the first time you sign in, and you can return at any time.
Do I need to subscribe to try Opiliant?
You need an active subscription to submit a Writing essay, complete a Speaking session, or take a Listening or Reading test. You can sign in and explore the dashboard before subscribing.
Which IELTS test does Opiliant prepare me for?
Both Academic and General Training. Writing covers Task 1 Academic (charts, graphs, diagrams), Task 1 General (letters), and Task 2 (essays — same for both tests). Listening and Speaking are identical across both IELTS versions. Reading currently covers Academic passages.
Passes & billing
What plans are available?
Three one-time passes, all through Razorpay — pay once, no auto-renew:

Does my pass auto-renew?
No. Every pass is a one-time purchase — you pay once and get full access for the pass duration (15, 30, or 60 days). Nothing is charged automatically. When a pass expires, simply buy a new one whenever you're ready.
How do I cancel?
There's nothing to cancel — because passes don't auto-renew, no recurring charge ever runs. Your access just ends when the pass expires, and you're never charged again unless you buy another pass yourself.
Can I get a refund?
See the Refund Policy for full conditions. In short: refunds are considered within seven days of purchase if you've made fewer than three evaluation submissions, and for technical issues that prevented you from using the service.
What if my payment fails?
If a payment doesn't go through, no pass is activated and you are not charged. Just try again from the billing page — and if money was debited but no pass appeared, email support@opiliant.com and we'll sort it out quickly.
Evaluations & feedback
How long does a Writing evaluation take?
Between 15 and 45 seconds depending on essay length. You'll see a loading state with examiner-style messaging — please don't refresh the page until the evaluation completes.
How accurate is the band score?
Opiliant uses GPT-4o calibrated against the official IELTS public band descriptors and a curated set of human-rated reference essays. Across our validation set, the band score is within 0.5 of a certified human examiner for more than 85% of submissions. It is a strong indicator — not a guarantee of your official IELTS score.
Why did my Speaking session disconnect?
Live Speaking sessions stream audio in real time, which makes them sensitive to unstable connections. Use a stable Wi-Fi connection and a wired or Bluetooth headset for best results. If a session disconnects mid-way, the partial transcript is saved and you can review it from the History page — but for a band-scored result, the session needs to complete all three parts.
Why is my microphone not working?
Browser microphone permissions are the most common cause. In Chrome, click the padlock icon next to the URL and confirm microphone access is allowed for opiliant.com. On macOS and Windows 11, you may also need to allow the browser microphone access in system settings.
Can I download my evaluations?
Yes. Every Writing evaluation has a Download PDF button on the result page. It exports the essay, the band hero, the per-criterion breakdown, and the full annotation set as an A4 PDF suitable for sharing with a tutor.
Practice & tests
Why are some Listening tests locked?
Each plan unlocks a set of tests; additional tests become available as you progress through them or upgrade your plan. This is intentional — completing all forty available tests at random doesn't help you improve as much as following the recommended order.
Account & data
How do I change my email or name?
Email and name come from your Google account. To change them on Opiliant, sign out, update them in your Google account, then sign back in. Your evaluation history and billing records remain intact.
How do I delete my account?
Email us at support@opiliant.com from the address associated with your account. We confirm via reply, end any active pass, and delete all your personal data within seven business days. Anonymous aggregate usage data may be retained.
Where is my data stored?
Account data and evaluation history are stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL). Payment data is held only by Razorpay — we never receive or store your card details. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
